Valeria Krivelevich Mobile FEES

Valeria Krivelevich, M.A., CCC-SLP, BCS-S

Owner and Chief Endoscopist, Valeria Krivelevich, M.A. CCC-SLP, BCS-S is a Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a graduate of Montclair State University with a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Rutgers University.

 

During her graduate studies, she was admitted to the Palestroni Clinical Assistantship Program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ where she worked for two years in the Swallowing, Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing, and Craniofacial Centers. This is where her desire to work with and assist individuals with dysphagia developed and where she first began to receive extensive training in the interpretation of objective dysphagia assessments such as the Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) and the Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).

Throughout her career, Valeria has worked in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, university acute care hospitals, inpatient acute rehabilitation centers, an inpatient traumatic brain injury center and skilled nursing facilities.

 

She has developed FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) and Videostroboscopy programs in several New York otolaryngology medical practices.

 

Valeria has been an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University where she taught the Dysphagia, and Head & Neck Cancer graduate level courses, as well as a visiting lecturer at Montclair State University on the topic of the Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). She has also been a clinical instructor on the hands-on application and interpretation of the Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing as part of a series of continuing education courses.

 

Valeria avidly pursues continuing education in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, and stays current in the latest and most innovative speech-language and swallowing therapy techniques. She is the proud recipient of the American Speech and Hearing Association’s Ace Award for continuing education.

 

Currently, Valeria devotes her time to providing mobile FEES services throughout the states of New York and New Jersey through her company, Dysphagia Evaluation Specialists. Valeria also provides mentorship to clinical fellows through her sister company, Effective Expression Speech Therapy PLLC, which provides staffing services to skilled nursing facilities.

Christina Gonzalez, M.S., CCC-SLP

Christina is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Speech Language Pathologist who earned her Master’s Degree from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She has been practicing as a medical SLP for 10 years in the state of New York. Christina has worked predominately in acute care settings with the adult and geriatric populations.

 

Her specialties include: CVA, trach/vent, and neurodegenerative diseases. She has been competent in FEES and performing these assessments since 2019. Christina stays up to date on the latest evidence based treatments for dysphagia and is certified in the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MTDP) for the treatment of swallowing disorders.

Shlomit Liberty, M.S, M.A., CCC-SLP

Shlomit is a Speech Language Pathologist who received her theoretical and clinical education in Israel and the USA. She earned her Master's Degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University and has been practicing as a medical SLP since, predominantly with the adult population in the acute care hospital setting.

 

Her passion lies in providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to individuals recovering from acquired brain injuries (stroke, traumatic brain injury) and cardio-thoracic surgeries as well as to patients coping with respiratory conditions and neurodegenerative diseases. She was first introduced to FEES in her Clinical Fellowship in 2016 and has considered it an integral part of her practice since. 

 

Shlomit is an avid learner and adheres to evidenced-based treatment. She is the recipient of several Continuing Education Awards (ACE) by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Some of her certifications include the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP) for a standardized assessment of swallowing deficits and the McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MTDP) for the treatment of swallowing disorders.
