Valeria Krivelevich is a highly respected speech-language pathologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders. She holds a Board Certification in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S) and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Valeria earned her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Rutgers University.

Her passion for dysphagia management began during her graduate studies when she was selected for the prestigious Palestroni Clinical Assistantship Program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Over two years, she gained extensive hands-on experience in the Swallowing, Pediatric Feeding & Swallowing, and Craniofacial Centers, receiving advanced training in interpreting Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).

With a diverse clinical background, Valeria has worked in private practice, university hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, and traumatic brain injury centers. She has played a pivotal role in developing FEES and Videostroboscopy programs for otolaryngology practices throughout New York.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Valeria is an educator, mentor, and author. She has served as an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University, teaching graduate-level courses on Dysphagia and Head & Neck Cancer, and has been a visiting lecturer at Montclair State University, sharing her expertise on FEES. She is also the published author of two books for medical speech pathologists specializing in FEES, providing essential guidance on anatomy and the interpretation of swallowing disorders.

Beyond clinical practice, Valeria is passionate about training the next generation of FEES clinicians. She provides in-person FEES courses and online webinars covering essential skills in endoscopic swallowing evaluations. Through these educational programs, she helps speech-language pathologists expand their expertise and enhance patient care.

As the owner and founder of Dysphagia Evaluation Specialists, Valeria provides mobile FEES services across New York and New Jersey, delivering high-quality, evidence-based dysphagia evaluations. She also extends her expertise through mentorship programs for clinical fellows via her sister company, Effective Expression Speech Therapy PLLC, which offers staffing services to skilled nursing facilities.
